One might say that Crystal Lee always was destined to be a massage therapist.
“I can blame my brother and mom for that,” she said, laughing. “I can remember being as young as somewhere in grade school and my brother always had back tension and issues … I would always give him a shoulder rub. And my mom worked hard [so I’d give her massages].
“From grade school on to high school [they would say], ‘Oh, you should be a massage therapist; that feels so good.’”
That path led her to last week, when she opened Good Life Massage in her hometown of Green Lake at 515 Gold St.
It’s the first massage business she’s owned, but far from her first experience in the field.
Lee enrolled right after high school into Fox Valley School of Massage in Appleton and became a licenced massage therapist in 2005.
After a brief stint in New London, she was hired by Evensong Spa in Green Lake as soon as it opened — “before the drywall was even hung,” she joked.
Coming home, Lee explained, was just natural to her.
